Alligator Spotted in Chicago... What in the World?!

It's safe to say that today was definitely an interesting day for Chicago police and residents in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. While it sounds like fake news, it's absolutely true that a 4-foot alligator was spotted today in the Humboldt Park Lagoon!

Authorities spent the day searching for the reptile. An alligator expert and conservation police were all called in to help in the search-and-rescue efforts. Authorities say it's possible that the alligator was placed in the lagoon by a pet owner. The lagoon, which is popular for paddle-boarding and kayaking, is now closed for all water activities.

Fingers crossed authorities can capture the gator sooner rather than later!
