Chance the Snapper is Caught! But How Did He Get There in the First Place?

Sad news for bored Chicagoans... We're going to have to find something else to do now that Gator Watch 2019 is over! That's right, the alligator that's been chilling out in the Humboldt Park Lagoon (affectionately dubbed Chance the Snapper) has finally been captured.

Chance the Snapper turned out to be 5 feet, 4 inches long and weighs about 40 pounds. He was first spotted in Chicago's Humboldt Park on July 9, when a photographer working a birthday party took a photo of him. Then, he became a local attraction. Chance evaded capture until authorities called in Frank Robb, an alligator wrangler from Florida.
