Indiana Teen Survived 7 Shots in School Shooting, Now She's Thriving

Ella Whistler, 13, is truly a miracle kid. Her parents say they're eternally grateful for every day they have with her, since she was almost taken from this earth. Ella was in science class at her Noblesville, Indiana, high school, when a 13-year-old male classmate pulled out a gun and began shooting. Ella was shot seven times, and she suffered severe injuries including a broken jaw, broken ribs, collapsed lungs and broken vertebrae.

But Ella survived, and now she's thriving! She's working hard at her recovery, doing physical therapy and getting emotional support from her whole community. Ella’s looking forward to starting high school this fall, and maintains a positive outlook, despite what happened.
