Walgreens Announces Plans To Close 200 U.S. Stores

This is not great news for consumers, and terrible news for employees... Walgreens announced this week they will close at least 200 store locations around the United States. The move comes in an effort to cut costs by $1.5 billion over the next few years. The Deerfield, Illinois-based company operates over 18,000 stores worldwide and has reported loss in income in the past year.

So far the company has yet to announce which stores around the country will be forced to close their doors.

It feels like every time I leave the house these days I see more and more empty storefronts! Add Walgreens to the list...
