Improv Group Stars Performers With Down Syndrome

The Improvaneers are cracking up their audiences, and breaking down barriers! They are the first improv comedy troupe in the world with performers who all have Down syndrome. Founder Rob Snow, who has a son with Down syndrome, said he got the idea from a friend. The troupe has nine performers between the ages of 19 and 33. The Ohio-based group is a hit! It's great for audiences, and for the performers too. According to their website,

"The goal of this program is to take this talented group of performers and allow improvisation to build the following skills: social cues (eye contact, poise, body positioning), communication skills (projection, articulation, emotions), self-confidence, thinking quickly on their feet, and comic timing."
