A brazen home invasion in broad daylight has people all over the country thinking twice about opening their door for deliveries. The robbery took place in Brooklyn, New York, and serves as an important reminder to many to be careful letting delivery workers, or anyone, into your home, because they might not be who they say they are. A simple costume, or even a vest, is enough to convince some people into thinking a thief is a mail carrier.
Always ask for identification: a business card, or ID card will do the trick. You can also look for a delivery truck nearby. When in doubt, call the police and never open your door!
