Chicago Uber Eats Driver Steals Packages from Building

Getting food using a delivery app is something many of us do, but a South Loop man’s $8 craving ended up costing a lot more than that for residents of his building.

Surveillance video shows this man, who was delivering McDonald's to a resident at 1918 S. Michigan, steal four packages from the lobby of the building on his way out. On his way in, he looked directly at the security camera!

The question now: will Uber take responsibility for the crime? Will they reimburse those residents for the packages that were stolen? And it makes me wonder about their vetting process. Do they conduct thorough background checks on their employees?

You might want to think twice before using Uber Eats again!
