Mui Thomas is a yoga instructor and a rugby referee, with an interest in supporting kids with special needs. She's also a fighter, with more courage and strength than anyone I've ever seen. Mui is one of only a few hundred people around the world living with harlequin ichthyosis. Harlequin ichthyosis is a rare skin disease that causes her skin to shed 10 times faster than others. Even though she has learned to live with the condition, people often think she is either burned or contagious. "It's coping with the staring [and] peoples' reactions and that's always quite difficult," Mui says.
