Chicagoans Hand Out 7,500 Brand New Coats to Neighbors in Need

We've been pretty lucky so far with relatively mild temperatures this fall. Heck, we might even make it to November before we see any snowflakes! That's pretty good for Chicagoland!

But cold weather is right around the corner, and that means thousands around the city will be struggling to keep warm. To help those most vulnerable, volunteers spent the weekend handing out 7,500 brand new, warm winter coats to public housing residents in Chicago. The program is sponsored by the non-profit Operation Warm and the Chicago Housing Authority.
