Tragic Update in the Death of an Indiana Toddler on a Cruise Ship

A tragic update has been announced in the death of an Indiana toddler on a cruise.

Chloe Wiegand was in a children's play area of a Royal Caribbean cruise this past July when her grandfather held her up to a window to see the view. He failed to realize the glass was open, and the 18-month-old fell 11 stories to her death on a dock in Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rican officials announced today that her grandfather, Salvatore Anello has been charged with negligent homicide in the case. He was arrested in Puerto Rico and is held on an $80,000 bond.

The family says the cruise line is to blame, for allowing a window to be open in the children's play area. Their lawyer says the charges are pouring salt on an open wound, as the family tries to grieve and heal from this unthinkable tragedy.

A preliminary hearing for the Valparaiso man is scheduled for November 20.
