A scary situation developed overnight at Maggie Daley Park.
A man is accused of driving through the popular children's park and crashing his car.
Security personnel said the man was parked inside the park around 1:30 a.m. Friday.
When officials approached the car and asked the man to leave the park, he hit the gas. He drove through the mini golf course before crashing into a fence. Fortunately, the park was empty at the time and no one was injured. The man is in custody and charges are currently pending while police investigate.
Maggie Daley Park is one of the most heavily visited areas of the city for children and parents. Both residents and tourists love the park, and it's full of pedestrians year-round.
