Fun Museum Exhibit Helped Spot This Woman's Cancer

A visit to a tourist attraction in Scotland may have saved a woman's life. Camera Obscura and World of Illusions in Edinburgh has lots of hands-on attractions and interactive experiences. One of them is the thermal camera, which was installed in 2009. It lets guests see "hot spots" in their body. When a guest who was visiting from England stepped in front of the camera one hot spot on her chest left her concerned. The visit inspired the woman to get checked out by her doctors. Low and behold, the hot spot on her chest was breast cancer. She's now fighting the disease, and has the museum to thank for giving her a head's up on getting treatment!
