Township Not Responsible After Man's Home is Destroyed During Police Raid

An armed shoplifter fleeing police chose a random home to hide out in. After a standoff lasting hours, police stormed the home, leaving it destroyed. SWAT teams methodically went room by room, firing explosives into every room the Greenwood Village, Colorado home. Eventually the suspect was captured, but the home was beyond repair. It was a total loss and had to be rebuilt. And the homeowners have been stuck with the bill for the damage!

Courts recently ruled that the township is not responsible for the repair costs due to the extensive damage the home obtained during the raid. The homeowner is still fighting the case, saying the police used excessive force in the raid.
