A lot of people get bored on the job, and look for a distraction... It's frowned upon in any career, but especially if you're a 911 OPERATOR! Come on! This is ridiculous!
A 911 supervisor was streaming Netflix instead of paying attention to her job. She misreported a shooting, filing it instead as a suspicious incident, which means police were never sent to the scene of the crime. The victim called 911 and waited 16 minutes, but no help arrived. She called again, and waited another 5 minutes. Still no help. She finally drove to her nearby police station.
I don't want to imagine what would have happened if the situation were more dire. Someone could have lost their life!
