Controversial Disease Causes Strange Fibers to Grow From Skin

Doctors are skeptical that the disease is real, but for sufferers of Morgellons the disease is very real, and very painful.

Morgellons Disease is characterized as a rare skin disorder where fibers and sores grow, inexplicably, from unbroken skin. Reporters from Inside Edition met with a group of people who say they suffer from the rare disorder, and they explained the pain and strange sensations they feel as a result of it. According to these people, it can feel like a stinging sensation, or like bugs are crawling all over your skin. They also showed the fibers that grow from their bodies.

Some doctors say the disease does not exist, and they treat it with therapy and antidepressants. Fortunately, not all doctors out there are skeptical. Some have been studying the rare disease with the hope of helping sufferers.
