Rear Car Windshield Shattered by Falling Ice in Downtown Chicago

December is the most wonderful time of the year. But January is the LEAST wonderful time... Falling ice season. As temperatures drop, Chicagoans begin to see "CAUTION: FALLING ICE" signs all around the city. Particularly in Streeterville and in the Loop where high rise buildings dominate the skyline, falling ice can be a huge danger for pedestrians and drivers alike.

This week, a massive sheet of ice fell from the Hancock building and a car down below took a direct hit. The incident happened on Delaware Place, and the car's rear windshield was shattered. The owner of the car says he was just driving along when the ice suddenly hit. Kemieyan Harris says the moment was scary since at first he had no idea what caused the suddenly explosion of glass in his backseat.
