Pregnant Mom Undergoes Surgery to Help Baby with Spina Bifida

Tyler McCaw is a beautiful baby boy, enjoying life in Oklahoma with his siblings and parents. But the newborn is tough as nails: he's already been through a lot, including a surgery before he was even born! It started when his parents, Kimmie and Justin, were told that Tyler had spina bifida while Kimmie was pregnant. The birth defect occurs when a fetus's spine doesn't completely develop during early pregnancy, and can lead to severe disabilities and even brain damage. Tragically, local hospitals weren't able to help the family since the case was so severe. So the McCaws reached out to specialists at the Cleveland Clinic for help.
