Coronavirus Fuels Drive-In Movie Comeback

With social distancing measures in place, we're all doing our best to stay home to slow the spread of COVID-19. Over the weekend, the Trump administration announced new guidelines, extending social distancing measures through April 30.

That's a lot of time at home! So Americans are getting creative, and looking for ways to have fun while staying physically away from each other.

Some drive-in movie theaters are staying open to offer families fun and entertainment from the safety of their cars amid the coronavirus outbreak. Theaters in states that haven't closed all non-essential businesses have seen families flock to their big screens. Drive-in owners have taken the extra precautions of spacing cars farther apart or closing concession stands. "A good movie can take you away from the stress for a couple of hours," said drive-in owner Blake Smith.
