Chicago Hotel Will Offer Free Rooms to First Responders

For first responders, the coronavirus pandemic has been an extremely challenging. As police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs continue to work on the front lines, the situation becomes more dire everyday. And for these workers, they not only put their own lives on the line: their families could get sick as well. To help our front line workers cope with this, a downtown Chicago hotel is setting aside nearly 275 rooms for first responders worried about possibly taking the virus home to their families.

With the U.S. still about two weeks from the peak of cases and deaths, things are only going to get more difficult for those on the front lines. Big thanks to Hotel Essex for their generosity during this time! We're all in this fight together, and we're going to get through this!

Mayor Lightfoot says she's working on setting up a similar situation for hospital workers as well.
