Chicago ER Doc Reveals the Terrifying Conditions Healthcare Workers Face

"I deal with gunshots every day and trauma and crazy stuff and this is the only thing that scares me."

That statement from Dr. Scott Samlan should have all Chicagoans on high alert. The Chicago ER doc and his colleagues at Mount Sinai Hospital on Chicago's west side have been on the front lines battling the coronavirus pandemic. This week he spoke with a reporter from CBS This Morning about the crisis, giving us an inside look at the terrifying situation our doctors and healthcare workers are facing. Dr. Samlan described the limited supplies they have, and talked about doctors right here in our city being forced to make their own masks to make up for the supply shortage. As the crisis deepens, things will only get worse.

The strain on our healthcare system caused by the coronavirus is critical. We need to stay home, stay healthy, and keep as many people as possible from getting sick! We can do it together!
