I Prevail Strips Down 'Every Time You Leave' In Intimate Performance Video

I Prevail is stripping down its latest single "Every Time You Leave." On Friday (August 7), the band shared an intimate acoustic performance of the song, which features Juno-nominated Canadian vocalist Delaney Jane.

Singer Brian Burkheiser chatted with iHeartRadio's Klinger about the track, and what made him decide to collaborate with Jane. “We had never actually done any features previous to this, and especially have never done a female feature, but I remember we had this song written and it was just going to be me for the whole song, but the more I thought about it, I would love to get a female on this to show both perspectives and sides of a relationship," Burkheiser recalled. “Me, personally, I’ve been in a relationship for five years — engaged to my fiancé now for a couple years — we kind of started right around when the band started. And I wanted someone who has toured and experienced these kinds of things before, and is an artist and knows how hard it is dating and being away from your significant other at times."

Burkheiser discovered Jane's music while listening to Canadian radio in Michigan. He thought she'd be perfect for the song and reached out. Jame admitted she doesn't usually collaborate but loved the track, and the rest is history.

During the interview, Burkheiser also revealed that the band shot a military-inspired video for the song, humvees and all. "I think it will be something that really opens people’s eyes," he gushed about the upcoming visuals.

"Every Time You Leave" is the latest single off I Prevail's Grammy-nominated album Trauma. Watch the acoustic performance video below.
