How To Get Help With Your Rent Or Mortgage In Illinois Due To Covid-19

There is good news in the news if you've been impacted by COVID-19 and need a little assistance with paying or rent or mortgage in Illinois.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced a rental assistance program in which the Illinois Housing Development Authority has set up $150 million to help those who are eligible pay their rent.

If you qualify for the rental assistance program, tenants will receive a one-time grant of $5,000 directly to their landlords.. so the tenants will never see the money. This $5,000 grant will be to cover any missed payments from March all the way through December until the $5,000 has run out.

These grants will not have to be repaid.

Applications are open through August 21st unless there is a high volume in which they may close applications sooner.
