Nima Manhas is one of the owners of a lovely flower shop in Streeterville, called City Scents. The shop is female and minority-owned, and has been supportive around the Chicago community throughout this difficult time. From the pandemic to protests and closures, their arrangements provide a bright spot during a dark time.
But the destruction their shop endured during Monday morning's riots is difficult to comprehend. Looters destroyed most of the shop, smashing the windows of the refrigerators that keep their flowers fresh, and ransacking their cash register. They hope to reopen soon, and continue providing their arrangements to a city in need of some beautiful.
