“Sometimes the scariest things in life can also be the most rewarding,” Mickey Guyton said as she debuted her heartwarming new song on Friday (April 26).
Guyton released “Scary Love,” which captures her life as a mother. She and her husband welcomed son Grayson in February 2021. She wrote it with Emma-Lee, Karen Kosowski and Victoria Banks. Guyton shared when she announced the song earlier this month that she “I never understood why my mom was so crazy over me until I had a child of my own. I get it now. This song came out of an experience when I was so close to losing the love of my life, Grayson. Life is so precious and can change in an instant. Scary Love is about that. Love you guys and thank you for being on this journey with me.”

“There’s so many types of love, but for parents who truly love their kids, there’s nothing we won’t do for them,” Guyton said via her record label of the song that follows her empowering anthem, “Woman.” “That kind of love is so scary because your heart is literally outside of your body and you’re seeing your heart grow up and become somebody. All you want to do is protect this person – that’s the scariest love that you’ll ever experience.”
“Scary Love” arrives on the same day Guyton was revealed as the headliner of the latest installment of “CMT On Tour,” which kicks off later this year and includes nearly two dozen dates. Guyton said as she shared the dates that she’s “so excited to announce that I’m hitting the road this fall with [CMT] on my own headlining tour…this really is a dream come true!” Tickets will be available to the general public on May 3 at 10 a.m. local time, per a press release issued Friday morning. see the list of tour stops below, and listen to “Scary Love” here:
