Popular Ready-Meal Recalled In Illinois Poses Life-Threatening Health Risk

HAR Maspeth Corp recalled its "8 ounce and 12 ounce packages of JINGA GLASS NOODLES W/ VEGETABLES (Japche)" on Friday (March 14) due to the undeclared presence of a common allergen.

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled product, distributed to H Mart stores across the country (including those in Illinois), contains "undeclared egg" which poses the risk of a "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction" to individuals allergic to the ingredients not listed on the product labels.

Consumers should avoid JINGA GLASS NOODLES W/ VEGETABLES (Japche) with UPC Codes 265405006495, 267405004495, 266405008496, 268405005499, and Best By Dates March 13, 2025, through March 18, 2025.

There have been no allergic reactions reported as a result of consuming the mislabeled product. Officials are urging consumers who have already purchased the recalled product to return it for a full refund.

Following the incident, the company assured it "takes allergies and food safety seriously and has implemented preventative measures to prevent any future occurrences."
