Luke Combs became an honorary member of the Backstreet Boys when he joined the iconic boy band to perform one of their biggest hits on stage.
The genre-blending collaboration took place at Stagecoach Country Music Festival, a star-studded event that took place from Friday (April 25) to Sunday (April 27) at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Zach Bryan, Brothers Osborne, Lana Del Rey, Carly Pearce, Jelly Roll, Ashley McBryde, Scotty McCerry and other artists also performed throughout the star-studded weekend.
In one of many surprise moments throughout the weekend, Combs appeared on stage to join the Backstreet Boys ā made up of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson ā during their performance of āI Want It That Way.ā The unforgettable single appeared on the groupās 12-track studio record, Millennium, in 1999. Backstreet Boys said it was āStagecoach magicā to feature Combs on stage during the bandās first-ever appearance at the festival. commenters applauded the collaboration when Backstreet Boys shared a clip on Instagram, including fellow artist Chris Lane, who exclaimed the performance was āepic!!!ā
Stagecoach attendees and social media commenters also spoke highly of the āepicā moment Combs delivered a surprise rendition of āFriends In Low Placesā with country icon Garth Brooks. Brooks delivered the infectious anthem in 1990s, and itās remained one of the biggest hits of his decades-spanning career (and inspired the name of the bar he opened last year in Nashville, Tennessee). Combs also invited rockers Good Charlotte to the stage to perform āThe Anthemā ā which the band released on The Young and the Hopeless in 2002 ā and āWhere the Wild Things Are,ā Combs single from his 2023 record, Gettinā Old. Combsā wife, Nicole Combs, shared a clip of Brooksā surprise appearance on her Instagram story, and gushed āmy husband is a backstreet boyā when Combs appeared on stage with the band.
