Shania Twain shared a throwback photo to celebrate her 60th birthday on Thursday (August 28).
The country-pop icon wrote in her caption on Instagram: “Happy birthday to me! How can I be 60? So glad to have kept some photos from this time in the 80s when I had no idea what was ahead of me and Shania f**king Twain didn’t exist yet 😂 I can’t begin to explain how grateful I am for the life that I have. For my family, friends, fans and the inspiration I get from all of you ❤️
“I’ve tried to stay true to myself along the way and that’s my intention moving forward into the next chapter,” she said.
Twain released her self-titled debut studio album in April 1993. Since then, the history-making singer-songwriter has become known for “You’re Still The One,” “Any Man Of Mine,” “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!,” “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” “No One Needs To Know,” “(If You’re Not In It For Love) I’m Outta Here!,” “Honey, I’m Home,” “Up!,” “Come On Over” and many other hits spanning her career. Twain has sold more than 100 million records globally, and blazed trails for women in country by becoming one of the best-selling female artists in the history of the genre.
