According to Variety there is some hush hush conversation going on about an American Idol revival. The show had 12 seasons on FOX but is apparently being eyed for a potential revival on a new network.. NBC. It's being reported that the Idol production team has pitched the idea and NBC is seriously considering it. Which would mean The Voice would be knocked down to just one season a year as opposed to the current fall and spring runs so that there is room for a new singing competition show. Representatives for NBC and the Idol production company have declined to comment.
