The Fast Food Healthy Eating Guide

On the go and need to eat healthy but fast food is the only option? Use these tips to help your choose what's on the menu.

Starbucks

  • The egg white and roaseted red pepper Sous Vide Egg Bites and the Hearty Veggie & Brown Rice Salad Bowl.
  • You can also eat their snacks as a full meal. Try their Hippeas, fresh fruit and toated coconut chips.

Chipotle:

  • Try a salad bowl with brown rice. Load up on veggies, black beans and skip the cheese.
  • If skip the meat, guac isn't extra!

Panda Express:

  • Ask for plain brown rice (it's not always on display but they have it) 
    • Load that with steamed veggies and grilled mandarin chicken
      • But, ask for no sauce on the chicken, it's full of sugar. Add soy sauce instead.

Subway:

  • Skip the sandwich and treat this like a salad bar. Load up on lettuce, spinach, peppers, cucumbers, olives, onions, tomato, turkey and avocado.
  • Also, skip those sugary dressings. Ask for oil and vinegar.

Wendys:

  • Try the Power Mediterranean Chicken Salad. (includes grilled chicken, feta, quinoa, chickpeas, white beans, roasted veggies and sun-dried tomatoes. Instead of the hummus sauce that comes with it, ask for balsamic vinaigrette.
  • If you're craving a burger, get their standard beef patty no bread, lettuce-wrapped.
  • If you're craving fries, go for the baked potato, plain. 

McDonald's:

  • Grab the lettuce-wrapped grilled chicken burger with no cheese. 
  • Side of apple slices

Domino's:

  • Gluten free crust, veggie pizza.
  • Ask for light cheese

Arby's:

  • The farmhouse salad, substitute the chicken with roasted turkey instead with balsamic vinaigrette.

Dunkin Donuts:

  • Grab and oatmeal and an egg white patty omelet.. add diced red and green bell pepper, mushrooms and green onions (skip the cheese( on a toasted multi grain flatbread)

DQ:

  • Your best bet is a 50-calorie fudge bar.

Taco Bell:

  • Try the black bean burrito or the power veggie bowl. Skip the cheese and sour cream.
  • In any other option, substitute any meat on the menu for black beans. 

KFC:

  • Sides are your best bet here; mashed potatoes without gravy, the sweet corn and cole slaw. Some locations have green beans too.
