Eric Church just gave us the scary details on his close call with death.
Last year he underwent emergency surgery that saved his life.
In Rolling Stone Country he told us that after his 2017 tour he felt a tingling in his hands, which he first thought were just nerves. Not too long after, while watching the College World Series and texting on his phone.. he realized that his left hand "was not responding like it should." He recalls his arm was swollen and "noticeably red and enlarged."
Turns out he had something called thrombosis, which he found on google. Noticed that he had all five symptoms and quickly drove himself to the hospital. Doctors revealed to him that this could have killed him that very day. He underwent an emergency surgery to correct a birth defect called thoracic outlet syndrome which basically means his top rib is too close to his collarbone.
The full story and more scary details of the surgery and what all happened can be found in the August issue of Rolling Stone Country magazine.
