Tuesday morning, September 4th, 2018, Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced that he will not be seeking a third term in office. AKA he will not be running for Mayor again next year.
"I've decided not to see re-election. This has been the job of a lifetime, but it is not a job for a lifetime."
There are 12 different challengers that have already decided they would like to run for Mayor. They include; Lori Lightfoot, Paul Vallas, Garry McCarthy, Willie Silson, Ja'Mal Green, Dorothy Brown, Troy LaRaviere, Neal Sales-Griffin, Amara Enyia, John Kozlar and Matthew Roney.
