Kelsea Ballerini paused her concert to fix a minor issue on the Bridgestone Arena stage in Nashville, Tennessee.

It happened on Friday night (January 31) during the powerhouse performance on Ballerini’s first-ever headlining arena tour. Ballerini has since shared that moment on TikTok. She sat on the stage between songs as she addressed the issue with her new knee-high boots.

“I have something important to say right now. I’m gonna take one second longer than I should, and I might need help,” Ballerini admitted. “I have a new outfit tonight. This is a new outfit. It’s pink. I have white, black and pink. I saved pink for Nashville. I think the — I’m so deada**, I’m not planning this — I think the stuff that you put in the toe is still in it.

“It is. Oh, it is,” Ballerini said as she took off her boot and reached into it. She held up the crumpled tissue paper that was stuffed into her boot, and the sold-out crowd laughed and cheered. “Sorry. One second. Talk amongst yourselves,” Ballerini added as she put her boot back on. “Like a glove.”

TikTokers commented “WE MADE THE RIGHT PERSON FAMOUS,” “so relatable,” “I adore how normal and down to earth you are,” “she’s the cutest person on the planet,” and more. Tigirlily Gold said “this legit happened to me when we opened for you at MSG.” The reigning Academy of Country Music New Duo of the Year and iconic sister duo Aly & AJ opened for Ballerini at her sold-out album release show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Ballerini headlined the venue days after she released her fifth studio record, Patterns. The 15-track album includes he title track, “Sorry Mom,” “Baggage,” “First Rodeo,” “Two Things,” “Cowboys Cry Too” with Noah Kahan and more. Ballerini said when the album released that she took “the beautiful and brutal look into myself and the people I love the most. The celebrations and challenges in the name of betterment, growth, and all around elevated vibes. The healthy habits that I hold close and the ones that gotta go.

“Written from my truest self, but meant for you to project onto your own lives and try on for fit,” she continued “Whether you relate, want a song to cry in the back of an Uber music video style to, dramatically/drunkenly tell someone how much you love them, or scream sing about moments gone wrong before they went right…it’s all yours.” Ballerini said she embraced a sense of freedom unlike ever before while creating the record, and credited “the angel-on-earth women who made it with me…the womanhood we made this with will forever be the award.”

Ballerini quickly announced her headlining arena tour, which includes special guests Sasha Alex Sloan, Ashe, The Japanese House and MaRynn Taylor. She marked a few full circle moments at the recent Nashville show, including a duet with surprise guest Keith Urban. The tour continues into early April. See the dates here.
