Cities can be dangerous for bikers, and you have to be vigilant about following traffic laws while biking busy city streets. A bicyclist was killed in Old Irving Park today, when a dump truck accidentally ran over the biker. According to officials, the truck had the right of way when the tragic accident took place.
Just before 7:00 this morning, the 37-year-old woman was traveling southbound, in the bike lane, riding alongside the truck. The truck driver, identified only as a 21-year-old man, turned right on a green light, and tragically the woman was in the driver's blind spot.
No citations have been issued for the driver of the truck.
