Police Get a Potential Break in Serial Killer Case

WH... or HM. This could be a major break for police.

Police on New York’s Long Island announced new evidence in the elusive Gilgo Beach serial killer case. Suffolk County Police released an image of a belt that was spotted at the scene. The black leather belt featured the letters HM or WH inscribed on it. The case struck fever pitch in 2010 after Shannon Gilbert, a sex worker from New Jersey, vanished after going to meet a client in Oak Beach, Long Island. Her remains were found more than a year later.

Police believe the belt was handled by the suspect, and did not belong to any of the victims.
