Tips to Stay Safe If You Need to Fly During the Pandemic

Some airlines have announced they will no longer offer social distancing on flights, and will resume selling all available seats on their planes.

If you decide to fly while the global pandemic continues to rage, there are a few steps you can take to mitigate your chances of catching COVID-19.

  • Cover as much skin as possible. wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and a sweatshirt with a hood that can be pulled up.
  • Wear gloves, a mask, and a face shield if possible.
  • Bring your own food and drinks.
  • Bring sanitizing wipes and a small bag to collect your garbage in. Wipe down your seat, seatbelt, and tray.
  • Reserve a window seat as close to the front of the plane as possible.
  • Limit your time on the plane by boarding last.
  • Change out of your plane clothes as soon as you arrive at your destination.
  • Wipe down your suitcase upon arrival.
