Three sailors who found themselves stranded on a secluded island in the Pacific are grateful to be back on land, with civilization today. The sailors were hundreds of miles from home when they ran out of fuel and found themselves stranded on a deserted island. They used the SOS signal to get themselves rescued, with the help of Australian officials. “I am proud of the response and professionalism of all on board as we fulfill our obligation to contribute to the safety of life at sea wherever we are in the world,” said Capt. Terry Morrison in a statement.
The three sailors were in good physical condition, despite their three day ordeal.
