Would You Watch Newly Released Films From Your Laptop, LEGALLY?
See, I'm torn on this subject...on one hand, yes, it would be awesome to watch a movie you've seen the trailer for for months in the comfort of my own home in my own sweatpants and not have people judge my order of two large popcorns, a skittles, and an icee in the concession line...and $50 is basically what you'd spend at the theater anyway with the ticket prices nowadays.
BUT THE MAGIC OF THE THEATER, the smell of the popcorn, the soles of your shoes sticking to the ground as you try to squeeze past Carol's body because she refuses to stand up for you once the previews start, the consistent crumpling of wrappers and obnoxious chewing/slurping from your fellow movie goers who didn't ace the 'Movie Etiquette' portion of their SATs. This plan would ruin all those amazing memories...
It's still early on, and who knows what will happen, my question is, will you be on board? Could the future of movies be no better than a straight to DVD type sell to the consumer?
