Walmart Kid Releases Live Acoustic Performance Of "Famous"
By Trace In The Truck
Yodel Kid, Walmart Boy, whatever nickname you use, you've by now heard of Mason Ramsey. I'll be honest. I hated the fact this kid got famous from yodeling in a superstore but that's the internet for you and since he's from this great state of Illinois, we have to support our own. The stress and whirlwind Mason's life has been since going viral for that video is something I don't think any of us can comprehend. Lil Hank Williams was just a happy go lucky 11 year old kid singing in Walmart for fun and just a few short months later he has a record deal, a charting single, he's played the Opry, AND gets to open up for FGL during their Las Vegas residency in December. The kid went from nothing to what most artists dream of doing in their entire career and he did it in roughly six months. He's country Justin Bieber. His voice will change, yes, but he has enough of a foundation to last his entire country music career, provided he stays in the spotlight and doesn't let fame and fortune get the best of him. I wasn't about it before but my official statement on Mason Ramsey is I'm all in on him now. I wish nothing but the best for him and his family and I fully expect to see him on his own headlining tour when the time is right. Keep at it, Mason! You have a gift and a golden opportunity, don't take it for granted and don't stop working! @TraceAHamilton
