Cubs' Addison Russell Placed On Administrative Leave

Cubs shortstop Addison Russell, whose ex-wife, Melisa Reidy-Russell, has accused him of physical mistreatment in a blog post linked to her Instagram account, has been placed on “administrative leave.” “We take allegations of domestic violence seriously and support the League’s decision to place Addison Russell on administrative leave given new details revealed today,” the Cubs said in a statement Friday. “We will continue to cooperate with the League’s investigation so the appropriate action can be taken.” 

Yikes...if these allegations are true then Russell needs to be removed from the Cubs organization and the MLB all together. No man should ever lay a hand on a woman regardless if he helped bring a championship to Chicago for the first time in over one hundred years or not... Absolutely unacceptable. No man should be continued to live in the glory of professional sports if his conduct off the field is anything like what has been alleged. You can read Melissa's blog post HERE and when you do, you will realize that the Cubs may need to find a new place for Russell to play. My personal choice is the dumpster behind the stadium. Trash should live among trash. If these accusations are true  then Addison Russell deserves no place in the Chicago Cubs organization or in the MLB. Kick him to the curb and let him fend for himself without a nice cushy starting 9 position salary. Give all the money you would pay him to Melissa and give her full custody of the kids too.
