Buzzfeed - 'Schitt's Creek', the Canadian comedy that has found a legion of new fans in the last few years, will end after its upcoming sixth season, the cast and creators announced Thursday.
Co-creators Daniel Levy and Eugene Levy said on Twitter thatSchitt’s Creekwould be renewed for another season after its current Season 5, but then that would be it for the Rose family: Johnny (Eugene Levy),Moira (Catherine O'Hara), David (Dan Levy), and Alexis (Annie Murphy).
“We are so grateful to have been given the time and creative freedom to tell this story in its totality, concluding with a final chapter that we had envisioned from the very beginning,” Daniel and Eugene Levy wrote.
“It’s not lost on us what a rare privilege it is in this industry to get to decide when your show should take its final bow.”
Well This SUCKS. Literally just binged this entire series in about two weeks on Netflix and it's become near and dear to my heart. Then Dan & Eugene Levy BREAK said heart with the news of the show coming to an end after next season. Very upsetting. If you haven't given this show a chance, stop what you're doing and go watch it. The humor is fantastic, the episodes FLY by and you'll keep watching until you realized you've missed your alarm to wake up for work the next day (true story). Very sad it's ending but the quote says it all. It is extremely rare that writer's for a show get to dictate how they want their creation to end in today's industry. Most shows scramble to find an ending because the public loses interest. I'm fully expecting a beautiful extravagant bow to be used to wrap up this entire series. Goodbye my sweet prince. You will live on in memory, and streaming services, for years to come. - @Traceahamilton
