(source) - Tree Town is no more. The country music festival based in Forest City since 2013 will get new management, a new name and a new date next year.Country Thunder, managed by Premier Global Production, will take over Tree Town. PGP operates five other Country Thunder festivals around the United States and Canada, including one in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, and Florence, Arizona.
Iowa is like a what, 6 hour drive?? I could do that. You can too! Country Thunder has announced that it has absorbed what was formerly one of the biggest country festivals in Forest City Iowa and will hang it's very own CT banners in the city come 2020. As sad as it may be for the 'Tree Town' faithful to see a new fest roll through town, it's gotta be of some solace that the thing will remain pretty much the same besides the name change.
“We are excited to bring Country Thunder to Iowa for 2020 and beyond,” said Country Thunder CEO, Troy Vollhoffer. “Aside from the name and date change, everything else will remain the same. The community is incredible here and we can’t wait to make 2020 bigger and better than ever before!”
I see no downside here, you'll get even bigger names at this festival, you get an upgraded name (Tree Town? Really?) and the festival will remain pretty much the same. Excited to see who they call in for the inaugural Country Thunder Iowa weekend. Keep an eye out on countrythunder.com for those announcements. - @Traceahamilton
