First things first, this song is a JAM. Been stuck in my head pretty much since 'Mercury Lane' dropped. So happy we're playing it as much as we are on the station. Now onto the video itself. Jimmie is a firm believer in maintaining artistic/creative control over everything he does. (Rightfully so). I think I was watching his IG story when he said he wants to make content that comes from his own head and, I'm paraphrasing here, doesn't want to do anything that's not his vision. As an artist, it's crucial to maintain that mentality, even if that means saying no. So, with all that said, it's no surprise that we get a magic wand making all Jimmie's dreams come true as the storyline for this music video. He's a huge fan of Disney (I see you, fam. Same.) and sure, he could've gone the route of meeting a girl in a bar bar bar, sneaking out to her car car car and stealing kisses in the dark dark dark, but that would be predictable and Jimmie has a better imagination than that. It's different, a tad cheesy but made me smile just like every Disney movie I've seen. I loved it.
Oh, and that Ford truck with the yellow rims you see in the video? Yeah, that's actually his. Damn, Jimmie is so cool. - @Traceahamilton
