Storytime, The first Zombieland movie came out when I was in high school (ten years ago) and I took a girl on a date to see the film. The goal was "it's a scary movie (zombies, duh) and she'll want to be held throughout the whole thing, easy win. Well who would've thought that this movie would've had both of us busting a gut laughing while simultaneously giving us all the gore and *scares we were looking for. That one night happened over ten years ago and I still remember it. Not sure if she reads this blog but if she does, thank you for the click and I hope you're happy and doing well!
Now, yes part of that night is memorable for different reasons but it all revolved around Zombieland. The movie is in my very limited selection of movies I've actually purchased since everything switched to digital and DVDs are basically non-existent, and still gets watched now and then when I'm on a long flight and wifi isn't an option. What I'm trying to say is this is one of my favorite movies and the thought of a sequel happening ten years later is something that's very exciting for me!
My concern is that they're going to be too gimmicky with it, you saw it in the trailer with the weed guy and the sitting on santa's lap bit. I'm hoping they stay genuine to what made the first film so great. Quick wit and humor and not going for the low hanging fruit every single time. I DO very much like the last scene in the trailer with Luke Wilson and Tom Middleditch basically being Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg from another dimension. The film has a lot of hype to live up to now. I hope they don't screw it up. Zombieland: Double Tap hits theaters on October 18th. - @Traceahamilton
