If you have not watched this in its entirety yet, I highly suggest you do. Especially if you're an artist/songwriter, you could take quite a few notes from Rhett. Not only does he have almost 30 #1 songs (he'll clear that number soon I'm sure), but the man is a walking encyclopedia of how to navigate this crazy world we call the music industry. It's a life that can be absolutely brutal and the only way to overcome that is to take the hits here and there, honestly. You can't make it to the top in country music without bumps and bruises along the way. Like Rhett says, it's a grind. BUT, if you have the determination, and the will, good things can come from it. Talent is key, obviously, but even the most talented artists in country music are still playing the bars on Broadway with no one looking into their music. It's a lot of work, a little bit of luck, and the song always comes first. Remember that. - T
