This one has been at the top of my "most anticipated" list ever since word got out that Riley would (finally) be releasing a full length album. The dude is the truth. Just give him a guitar, a stage to play on and watch him go to work. It's not easy to command an entire room but Riley Green seems to do that with ease. We saw that first hand at our Big Miller Lite Nashville Nights event in Wrigley a few weeks back. Chicago loved him. And before that, we saw him full band at the beginning of August on tour with Brad Paisley. Let me tell you, when he played 'I Wish Grandpas Never Died', you could almost hear a pin drop. A tough thing to accomplish in an amphitheater setting, especially as an opener.
Back to the album. Every song on here is a great story wrapped in a wall of sound filled with warm guitars and drums, and tied together with melodies that you just can't get out of your head. I'm on my third listen through of the day but early favorites are "Same Old Song", "Bettin' Man" "Hard To Leave" & "My First Everything" for what it's worth. Take a listen to the album (click the link below to go to his Youtube page to listen to it start to finish), Try before you buy, but THEN GO BUY IT. Pay this man. It's his debut album and you'll be listening to the songs LONG after you forget about the money you spent. Can't put a price on good music. Or at the VERY least, stream the ever loving sh*t out of it. Get those numbers up however you can. Do your part.
Well done, RG. See you back in Chicago soon. - @Traceahamilton
